Our soy fiber is made from the waste product of an abundant resource. After oil is extracted from soybeans, a soy &quto;cake" is left behind. Protein is distilled from this cake (any further residue is used as animal feed) and a biological enzyme is added to change the structure of the protein. A hydroxyl and cyano-polymer are added as the protein is cooked and the fiber is then completed using wet-spinning. The soy protein does not require any bleach or toxic chemicals during processing and ours is non-GMO.
Known as vegetarian cashmere, soy protein fiber fabric is extremely soft and warm to the touch. It breathes better than cotton and also has excellent absorbency, anti-bacterial and UV protection properties. Since soy fiber cannot withstand high temperatures, we blend it with organic cotton to increase its dyeing quality as well as its performance. In doing so, we are also able to bring down the cost to an acceptable level for customers.
