about anjali
Anjali was founded by husband and wife team Julissa Carranza and Kristinn Sigridarson,
as a way to join their two great loves; yoga and fashion design.
They first met in 1991, when they were paired together as co-designers for a women's suit collection.
They married four years later.
They came to yoga in the year 2000, in hopes of saving Julissa's life from the stress of the New York fashion industry.
It was love at first practice. Two years later, they experienced Anusara yoga
and knew that life would never be the same after that.
In 2005, they both completed an Anusara teacher training at Yoga Montclair in Montclair New Jersey.
Naturally joining their two passions, yoga and fashion, they have created the yoga clothing line, anjali.
Calling on their fashion sensibilities along with
their intense yoga practice demands, anjali is what they offer to you.
These performance driven clothes are created for the most intense yoga practice
as well as stylish and sleek enough to step out of the studio and worn all day.
In 2006 anjali started working with Freespace Dance Company to create costumes
for their various dance projects. This union, between artistic vision
and high-level performance, has been extremely inspiring
and the company is currently working with Freespace on upcoming projects.
